Is My Timber Smooth Enough to Coat?
Sometimes it can be tricky to determine when you’ve sanded enough to begin coating. Luckily, we have the perfect tip for you to help you work it out!
Once you have finished sanding the timber and you think it’s ready. Give your coating a good stir, apply a small amount onto an inconspicuous area of the timber. Wait 24 hours for the coating to set and grab a piece of household sticky tape.
Apply a small piece of tape to the area you coated and peel off right away. If the coating sticks to the tape, you need to sand more. If the coating does not stick to the tape and remains completely on the timber, you are good to go to coat the rest of the timber! Easy as that.
